I
hope you all had a great Father’s Day weekend! I didn’t get to spend it with my
dad, but I hope to make that up to him next weekend by cooking him a nice meal.
Today
I’m doing another “Déjà Vu” post, and I’m styling a pair of colored shorts two
ways. I bought these shorts from Old Navy last summer, and with colored pants and shorts
being such a big trend right now, they’re getting lots of wear. I dressed them
up a little for a dinner date, and I also styled them casually for day.
Blazer: Madewell; t-shirt: Loft; shorts: Old Navy (similar); earrings and long necklace: Target; sandals: Target
My
favorite way to dress up shorts for a date (I did it here too) is to add heels
and a blazer, as well as some bold jewelry. Excluding the shorts, all the
pieces are neutrals, so the result is a simple, chic look.
This look was inspired by this photo of Aubrey Plaza, and I'm linking up to Inspiration Monday at Two Birds today.
For
day, I went bolder with the colors, but I kept my accessories to a minimum. I
love how this mix of eggplant and coral turned out!
How are you wearing
your colored shorts this summer?
